Hello

I want to show You Pudi's chiller built by me. It had been built after long talks and decision changes ...from chiller into Tt Mozart TX case, throught chill cased into lian-li V2000 and finally ...stand-alone cased chiller which will be standing under Lian-Li cube case .

Specs :

compressor: Danfoss SC18CL
heat exchanger: plate HX 12 plates
XV: Danfoss TS2 TXV + Frigomec 0.88l receiver
condensor: 1.5kW cooled by 4x 120mm/25mm Scythe SFLEX 1200 fans
refrigerant : R507+R134a
case: metal case 46 x 46 x 35 cm, black powder coating
others: electronic controller Dixell XR40C, 4x 120mm/25mm Scythe SFLEX 1200 fans on the back of case + 4x 120mm/25mm Scythe SFLEX 1200 fans on the front of case, Eheim 1048 pump into 1.7l reservoir, hoses inside chiller 12/16 mm .

Pictures hasn't been taken from start - I hadn't got digicam for some days .

And the party begin .

Upppsss - Pudi won't be happy seeing so much frost . Luckily system has digital controller .

-26*C liquid without load .

i and +8*C on heater taking 605W from 230V socket .

Wanna some drink ?

And after party ....

Regards
Peter

Because that system use Danfoss TEV and I always put receiver before TEV

is it useful with such a condensor ?

It's obligatory with TEV.

Does your customer want to run at such high temp or is it limitation? You can easily run @ -30° with such load

I didn't know it was mandatory...
good thing to know

We can say both

How could you tune the superheat without any liquid receiver (and same gaz quantity)?

what's mandatory is to have a 100% liquid flow at the TXV inlet, the easiest (and the safest too) way to achieve this is by installing a receiver after the condenser. However, with a slightly oversized condenser you can avoid the receiver, but as you can't be sure of the environmental conditions of use it's better to install one (in case the air temp rises, your condenser is not as oversized as it was supposed to be, and you can reach the limit of the 100% liquid flow)

Just take a look at its specifications (ASHRAE capacity) here.

You'll have even more capacity because the condensing temperature may not be as high as in CECOMAF/ASHRAE conditions and the liquid is subcooled (main difference between CECOMAF and ASHRAE) @ lower temperature (~25°C)

The liquid won't be at -30°C of course but the evap will (frost until 2-3cm after the HX, no more no less). The superheat must be high too, don't be afraid of getting 25° entering compressor, it's able to run with "hot" gas enterring (until 40°C), just give the mandatory airflow through him and the condenser

Edit : with pure R507c, I forgot to mention that
